WDMDB - W.D. Manor Dialysis Box (Patent Pending)

The dialysis process is performed by medical care providers.  In most all cases the health care specialist utilizes a dialysis machine that typically demands cold, potable water requiring 1.6 GPM with 30 PSI at the unit.  The process also entails that the waste water connection is adequate to receive no less than 1.6 GPM. Typically, a dialysis service cabinet requires one service box with a hose bib and drain connection, as well as, an additional access box for the backflow preventer and trap primer.  Many designs justify the need for a separate remote location for the backflow preventer with a dedicated supply line to each dialysis box.

Incorporating an all inclusive dialysis box into the design has multiple advantages. The WDMDB(patent pending) eliminates the need for excess dedicated cold water distribution piping, by concealing both a backflow prevention device and a trap primer inside of the access box.  This eliminates the cost and space requirements for additional wall space intended for remote backflow preventers, trap primers and for supplementary access doors. The benefit of utilizing a WDMDB(patent pending) are that it consolidates all the required components into one user friendly, esthetically pleasing and completely functional cabinet.

The WDMDB Dialysis Box is built and fabricated as follows:

  • The WDMDB (patent pending) is built with an 18 gauge stainless steel access box, including a separate pre-manufactured stainless steel access door.
  • The door is fabricated to swing open for either right or left hand installations.
  • The dialysis box access door comes standard with a 90-degree swing with a concealed hinge. The access door can be ordered with a 180-degree swing with an exposed hinge.
  • The actuator for the access door can be custom ordered, however a knurled knob is standard.
  • The dialysis box is manufactured with dual purpose mountaing tabs for finish paneling or millwork.
  • The dialysis box incorporates a testable reduced pressure backflow preventer designed for extreme hazard conditions. The backflow prevention device is a UPC code requirement for most all cities and municipalities to protect the potable water source from possible contaminants generated by the dialysis machines
  • The dialysis box includes a trap primer to insure periodic priming of the p-trap connected to the fixture drain and the sanitary sewer, the trap primer is also typicallys a UPC code requirement.
  • The dialysis box includes a protective, drop down, stainless steel drip tray. When the door is closed the drip tray fits inside the box, and whne opened it should be folded down to prevent spillage on the wall or cabinet.
  • The point of connection from the dialysis box to the dialysis machine is with a male hose thread.
